Usman Gems, MCH Green march on

JEDDAH: Usman Gems in the Premier league and Hala Academy White in the Morning League remained undefeated as Al-Safree vs. Jotun Paints ended in a tie in Western Province Cricket Association matches here recently.
Usman Gems beat Mazco by 46 runs. Batting first Usman Gems scored 220-5 with Amjad smashing 52 and Nadeem Butt making 44, Imran 42 and Zahid Riyaz 37. Amer secured 2-37 as Waheed, Umer and Samir accounted for one wicket each.
Mazco responded aggressively with Rashid Malik scoring 33 and Amer 73 for the first wicket. Once they went back to the pavilion Usman Gems' skipper Hashim Khan took over to grab 5-38 to restrict Mazco to 174-8. Zahid Anwer 2-21 and Nadeem with one were the other wicket-takers.
In another encounter AOT GFC beat Zultec by 50 runs.
Taking the strike first AOT GFC plundered 223-5 through Faisal blasting 74 off 29 balls, Faiq Habib 51 off 30 balls, while Ali Hassan retired after making 26. Khalid Iqbal claimed 2-33 with one wicket each for Yusuf and Usman.
For Zultec, Javed Iqbal scored 48, Jawwad 34 and Imran 32 to take the total to 173 for 8. Imran Yusuf took 3-33, Shahzad 2-38, Zeeshan 2-29 and Faiq one.
In another Premier encounter Dopco Stars thrashed Elaf Advance by 10 wickets. Dopco achieved the target of 123 in mere 52 balls.
In the Afternoon matches AMI Juffali defeated United by 26 runs. Juffali first put on 163 with Suifyan scoring 53 and Habeeb 40.
Yasir bagged 3-13 and Shahzad Rana 2-34. United responded with 149-7 as Shahnawaz fought alone with 64 and Raja Mudassir scored 27. Najam took 3-20 and Sufiyan 2-29.
Pak Mecca-XI lost to Hala Academy Blue by one wicket. Batting first Pak Mecca scored 170-6 (Amer 44 and Umer Sharif 32). Saifullah with 2-15, Amajd 2-38 and Ramazan 2-19 were among the wickets. Hala Academy after initial hiccups was home with 172-9 with 5 balls to spare as Aleem hit 60. Majid took 3-28 and Shoaib 2-28.
In other Afternoon encounters Desert Lions beat GGI by 10 runs; Contraco lost to My Care Hala Green by seven wickets; Jotun Paints vs. Al-Safree match ended in a tie; Zultrack beat Alpha Srilankans.
In the Morning WPCA matches: Al-Saudi-XI beat Hala International School by 62 runs; Attieh Steel lost to Johnson Control Blue by seven wickets; OTEX humbled Johnson Control Green by 72 runs. Hala Academy White ended Al-Mazroi unbeaten run.
