AOT shocks MCH Green

Mubeen – 3 wicketsDr. Sayed ZiauddinJEDDAH – AOT defeated mighty May Care Hala Green, AMI Juffali trounced Champion China Southern Airlines, Hala Academy Blue humbled Jotun Paints and Dopco Young Stars sailed past Al-Safree to get into the last four.
Batting first, AOT, comprising young talent, piled up 194-6 in 20 overs against My Care Hala Green. Akram made 41, Pervaiz 34, Zakir Habeeb 32 and Uzair 30. Shahid Ali took 3-27 and Azhar 2-30.
While chasing, My Care Hala Green was restricted to 172 all out as Zakir Habeeb scalped 3-18, Pervaiz 2-36 and Akram 2-22. From the illustrious batting lineup only Hassan Malik stood firm to hit 52 in 30 balls, Salman made 26 and Azhar 23.
Jotun Paints opted to bat first and made 153-7 as Zafraan made 37, Ijaz 28 not out and Saleem Butt 26. Shabaz took 2-24 and Ramazan 2-32.
Hala Academy Blue raced to 154 in 103 balls with 6 wickets in hand. Saim Sherwani hammered 47 in 29 balls, Malik Usman 44 and Shahbaz 37.
China Southern Airlines chose to bat first and posted 179-7 through Abdullah 45 in 27 balls, Mohammed Asim 33, Fahim 31and Fahad 24. Asif took 3-32 and Mohammed 2-23.
AMI Juffali was comfortably home with 6 balls to spare by making 180-7 through Shaboor 46 in 33 balls and Mohammed 41 off 18 balls. Later Asif stroked 24 to get his team though to the semis.
Al Saudi XI piled up 210-5 through Ghayour Sajjad, who hammered 86 in 47 balls with 4 sixes and 9 fours, and last week's centurion Zeeshan Soherwardy, who made 49 off 20. Imran of ALJ took 2-52.
ALJ Toyota, chasing a huge target, could get to 170-9 and lost by 31 runs. Imran made a fine 72 in 32 balls with 10 fours and 3 sixes and Zahid hit 22. Fouad Ali grabbed 4-23 and Naveed 2-29.
Al-Mazroi, using the track first against QRCC, posted 172-7 as Kifayatullah smashed an unbeaten 50 and Faisal made 38, Sufiyan 18 and Badar 17. Arshad took 2-4.
QRCC, in reply, was home on the last ball, thanks to a cameo innings in the hot noon by Zahid, who hammered an unbeaten 92 in 49 balls with 11 hits to the fence and 3 sixes. Aamir made 25 and Abdulrauf 20. Mubeen took 3-21, Abdul 2-13 and Badar 2-38.
