Kashif ton and Sarfaraz hat trick set tone for WPCA Summer Tourney

JEDDAH: My Care and Hala thrashed Zultec by 10 wickets as IDBP defeated minnows Elaf Enginnering by 63 runs and Al-Safri, reinforced Crown Blues, Pak XI, AMI Juffali and Jotun won their respective matches in the first week of the WPCA Summer Tournament.
Kashif Shafeeq's century and hat trick by Sarfaraz of Al-Safri were the highlights of the tournament's first week.
Zultec elected to bat first against My Care and Hala put up 172 all out as Anis Malik stroked a masterly 31, Arif made 23, Qazzafi 22 and Bilal scored 20. Mohammed took 3-21 as Arshad got 3-20 and Mohsin Mirza scalped 2-20. In reply My Care Hala went about in a clinical way as Kashif Shafeeq smashed a fabulous ton (106 n.o. in 77 balls) studded with 13 fours and a six. Khurram Karamat faced 37 balls to make an unbeaten 62 to achieve the winning target of 173 with five balls to spare.
In the other match, IDBP, opting to bat first against Elaf Engineering, scored a massive 233 for 4 in 20 overs with openers Khalid Butt (80 in 50 balls) and Shoaib (70 in 29 balls) adding 128 for the first wicket. Ijaz Ahmed scored an unbeaten 68. Irfan took 2-27. In response Elaf was restricted to 70 for 8 in the stipulated overs as Waseem grabbed four wickets for 25 and Misbah got 2-12. Ehtesham scored 36, Hasnain 32 and Irfan made 23.
In the Afternoon Summer, Al-Safri XI were merciless with Sarfaraz once again taking a magnificent hat trick in his fourth over. He got five wickets for 31 runs to bundle out Usman Gems Warriors for 92.
Earlier, Al-Safri XI piled up 172 as Rehan hammered a fantastic 72 in 41 balls and teenager Anas made 22. Sheeraz grabbed 3-8, Zafar 3-30 and Zafran got 2 wickets. At Ground 3, Pak XI put up 163 for 9 against United C.C. as Umer made 52 in 24 balls, Yasser 27 and Shahid 20. Irfan Ghulam scalped 3-21. In reponse, UCC started well with Shahnawaz hitting 72 in 48 balls with 6 fours and 3 sixes as Amer Shahzad stroked 43.
Batting first, Nestle Milo succumbed to 132 against Crown Blue with Abdullah Zahid top scoring with 33 n.o. Adnan grabbed 4 wickets for 23, Anwaar Ahmed got 2-16 and Murtuza 2-32. In reply, Crown Blue was home with 137 for 7 through Fahad who made 54.
Usman Gems Green went down to Jotun Paints after scoring 141 as Irfan made 45 and Adil 24, Imran Ali took 2-33 and Salim Butt 2-32. In response, Jotun plundered 142 for 2 in 85 balls with Shafeeq stroking 41, Imran 34 and Sajid 23.
AMI Juffali defeated My Care Blue. __
