Young Athlete lifts Ace Travel Cup

XI by 110 runs in the final to lift the Ace Travel Cup (Division 1), sponsored by Ace Travel & Tours and organized by Jeddah Cricket Association here recently.
Young Athlete scored 260-8 and then bundled out Peeran-XI for 150 to claim the trophy. The match for the third position between Munch Bakery and Saudi Bitu Corp ended in a draw.
The final saw Young Athlete win the toss and decide to bat first. Basharath (28) and Waleed (19) gave their team a solid start. Mahtab, however, stole the limelight with his fine batting display for his 88 runs off 49 balls. He was given good support by Asif (21), Wajid (42) and Sattar 33. Zaheer (2-15), Tanveer (2-34) and Mustafa (2-34) bowled well but could not restrict Young Athlete players.
In reply Peeran-XI players never got it going their wasy. Tanveer (26), Shahid (21), Kamran (18 not out), Faizan (22) and Nadeem (14) were the ones to put up a fight. Misbah was unplayable as he bagged 5-15 while Waleed (2-23) along with Rasheed and Mahtab (a wicket each) were among the wickets.
Young athletes had lost only one match in the league and were the deserving team to pick up the coveted Ace Travel Cup.
The third position match saw Munch Bakery bat first. It scored 163-6 with Mubeen scoring 59 and Mubashir 48.
Tahir took 4-35 and Shabbir 1-38. Saudi Bitu Corp in reply ended its innings at 135-6 with Ahmad Shah scoring 35, Waqas 30, Afsar 25 and Zakir 37. Mubashir picked up 2-32 and Rana 3-36. The match has to be stopped after only 16 overs because of bad light.
