Kanoo Travel wins Kanoo Cup

Kanoo Travel humbled its senior team Kanoo by 161 runs in a one-sided Premier Division Mini League match to clinch the Kanoo Premier Cup, sponsored by Kanoo Group of Companies and organized by Jeddah Cricket Association here recently.
Batting first Kanoo Travel piled up 348 for 3 in 30 overs and then bundled out Kanoo for 187 runs to register the huge win.
Kanoo Travel openers Kaleem and Mazhar both hit centuries to score 250 runs for the opening wicket. Kaleem hit 121 (17 fours and two sixes) off 72 balls, while Mazhar made 108. Pervez Khan remained unbeaten on 40 and Adnan unbeaten on 29. Kamran and Najam toiled hard for a wicket each.
In reply Kanoo could manage only 187 runs with Rashid scoring 56, Sami 53 and Waseem 16 not out. Amer 3-45 and Majid 2-40 were among the wickets.
In the second match Ace Travels comfortably beat Jawar Al-Jazira by five wickets. Jawar batting first scored 191 runs with Shan (32), Sajid (42), Javed (20) and Rashid Ali (26) chipping in with useful contributions. Athar (3-24), Naveed (3-25) and Wajahat (3-33) bowled well to restrict Jawar total.
In reply Ace Travel raced to 192-5 in 25 overs and sealed victory with five overs to spare. Wajid 54 and Athar 60 set the ball rolling while Naveed scored an unbeaten 30 to take their team through. Shan bagged two wickets, while Tariq, Ramzan and Adnan chipped in with a wicket each.
A prize distribution ceremony followed. JCA Chairman Dr. Faiz Al-Abideen thanked the Kanoo management for sponsoring tournament for the third year in a row and said the association looked forward to strong relationship with Kanoo in future as well.
JCA President Mohammed Iqbal congratulated the winner and runner-up, before A.A. Merchant, on behalf of Kanoo management, conveyed the best wishes sent by Ali Abdulla Kanoo and Ahmed Fawzi Kanoo to the organizers and the participating teams.
