Parliament speakers of G20 states stressed Sunday the importance of the initiative by King Abdullah, Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, which aims to consolidate the concept of interfaith dialogue as a basis for peaceful coexistence at the international level. They also praised the King's efforts to increase the developmental aid from the national, regional and international institutions and directing it to achieve the goals of the Millennium-II. They called for supporting the United Nations Declaration for the selection of Year 2012 as ‘International Year of Sustainable Energy For All'. In a communiqué issued Sunday following the conclusion of the third consultative meeting hosted by the Shoura Council for two days, the speakers said the initiative of King Abdullah comes within the sphere of the important institutional work that strives to promote international dialogue between peoples and cultures to strengthen international peace and security. The speakers called on the international community to create a suitable environment for dialogue, tolerance and development of a culture of human rights, away from fanaticism, extremism and racism. It called for focusing on the fields of cooperation between peoples, parliaments and countries in serving the common objective of love and peace. The communiqué demanded addressing the problem of terrorism and not linking it with any religion, culture or ethnic group. It condemned terrorism in all its forms and manifestations irrespective of its motives. It pointed out that racial discrimination and hatred of foreigners are contributing in belittling man's dignity and threatening the links between societies. The communiqué stressed the importance of making the Middle East a zone free of nuclear weapons, as it is the main source to supply the world with energy, and it is necessary for peace and economic prosperity of the world, indicating that the stability of energy markets and their supplies are important for global economic growth. The stability of the energy market and supplies is important for global economic development. Therefore, it is necessary to stimulate the mechanisms for energy dialogue between producers and consumers in order to contribute to the growth of the world economy and stability of energy markets, it said. Welcoming Mexico's invitation to hold the fourth consultative meeting there, the speakers expressed their gratitude to King Abdullah, Shoura Council and the Saudi people for hosting the meeting.
