The Speakers of Parliaments of the Member States of the Group of Twenty stressed Sunday the important roles of the initiative of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud for the enhancement of the concept of dialogue among followers of religions and cultures as a basis for peaceful coexistence at the international levels, and his initiative for increasing development assistance from national, regional and international institutions and directing them to address energy poverty for the achievement of Millennium-II Development Goals. In a final statement issued here this morning, on the conclusion of the three-day meetings of the 3rd Consultative Meeting of Speakers of Parliaments of the Member States of the Group of Twenty hosted by Majlis Al-Shura under the patronage of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, the Speakers said that the King's initiative for the enhancement of the concept of dialogue among followers of religions and cultures, comes within important institutional frameworks for the promotion of international dialogue and confirmation that understanding and dialogue between peoples and cultures are very essential for strengthening international peace and security. The Speakers called on international community to create a suitable climate for dialogue, tolerance and development of a culture of human rights, far away from fanaticism, extremism, and racism. --MORE
