Malik XI and Hyderabad Sharks prevail

JEDDAH - Ace Travel, MB Stars, Malik XI, Hyderabad Sharks, MCH Premier and MCH Green recorded contrasting wins in the 10th week action of the CIT SPL Twenty20 Tournament organized by Jeddah Cricket Association (JCA).
For the 2nd successive year the Saudi Premier League tournament is sponsored by Canadian International Trading (CIT) and co-sponsored by Initial Services, Ace Travel & Tours, Maui Jim Sunglasses, Hyderabad Sharks, Pepsi (SIPCO), Mizo Juices (Arrow Foods), Khind Electronics and Bison.
The week's highlights were a superb unbeaten 136 off 47 balls laced with 16 fours and 9 sixes by Mohammed Shehzad and his tight spell of 3-24 that earned him the Player of the Week award and enabled Hyderabad Sharks to a 7-wicket win over KAIA.
Jawed's unbeaten 117 off 46 balls enabled MB Stars beat Peeran XI by 8 wickets. Irfan's unbeaten 100 in 36 balls along with Shahbaz's unbeaten 85 helped MCH Premier thrash Naseem Al-Zahra by 10 wickets.
The most exciting match was Malik XI beating Saudi German Hospital by 1 run thanks to Sami's knock of 75 and excellent bowling by Shani (4-25). Ace Travel retained second spot with a 33-run win over Pepsi Deccan Knights despite a valiant unbeaten 82 and 2-55 by skipper
Abdul Quddus.
Hyderabad Sharks beat KAIA by 7 wickets. KAIA 148 all out - Javed 30, Ahsan 22; Mohammed Shehzad 3-24, Shahid 2-28. Hyderabad Sharks 151-3 in 10.4 overs - Mohammed Shehzad 136 not out, Amin 2-31. Man of the Match: Mohammed Shehzad. MB Stars thumped Peeran XI by 8 wickets. Peeran XI 177-8 in 20 overs. Shakeel 80 not out in 54 balls, Naseer 3; Moazzam 2-29. MB Stars 183-2 in 13.2 overs, Jawed 117 not out. Man of the Match: Jawed.
MCH Premier humbled Naseem Al Zahra by 10 wickets. Naseem Al-Zahra 196-6 in 20 overs - Osman Butt 73, Aamir Wahla 34, Qamar 32; Abu Huraira 2-32. MCH Premier 202 without loss in 14.1 overs - Irfan 100 not out, Shahbaz Rasheed 85 not out. Man of the Match: Irfan.
Malik XI edged Saudi German Hospital by 1 run. Malik XI 165-5 in 20 overs - Sami 75, Nasir 23. Saudi German Hospital 164-8 in 20 overs - Omar 60 not out, Shani 4-35, Nasir 3-29. Man of the Match: Sami.
ACE Travel thrashed Pepsi Deccan Knights by 33 runs. ACE Travel 242-7 in 20 overs - Waqas 52, Adnan 36, Bilal 33, Sami Khan 30; Hamid 2-43, Ayaz 2-47, Abdul Quddus 2-55. Pepsi Deccan Knights 209-7 in 20 overs - Abdul Quddus 82 not out, Akramullah 32; Rashed 3-48, Abdul Rehman 2-25. Man of the Match: Waqas.
MCH Green downed Pak Shaheen by 6 wickets. Pak Shaheen 191-8 in 20 overs - Usman 48, Salman 42, Malik Shaan 25; Imran 3-10, Munawwar 2-18. MCH Green 193-4 in 17.3 overs - Qaiser 71, Imran 42 not out. Man of the Match: Imran.
