JEDDAH — Al-Mazroi, Al-Saudi Green and GBest IDB won their respective matches to finalize the quarterfinals' lineup in the WPCA Morning Tournament here.
ALJ Toshiba will take on Nesma Holding, Crown Blue faces MFCC, Al-Mazroi Salonpas tests ATC, while GBest IDB will be up against Stallions in the quarterfinals, which will begin this Friday.
Al-Mazroi Salonpas defeated Emper Pefumes by 11 runs. Al-Mazroi Salonpas produced 121 with Salman scoring 16 and Imran Topia 39. Amir Shabbir grabbed 3-25, Abdulrauf 2-22, Sajjad 2-15 and Amir Butt 2-31. Emper Perfumes was left stranded at 110 for 9. Asif hit 17 and Abdulrauf 14. Salman took 3-22, Sohail 2-18 and Ahmad 2-25.
Al-Saudi Green trounced ADI XI by 13 runs. Al-Saudi piled up 181 for 5. Faisal hit 37, while Imran and Manzoor made 17 each. Nazeer Siddiqui topscored with 79 in 42 balls with 3 sixes and 8 fours. Bilal claimed 3-36 and Daniyal 2-37. ADI XI, in response, was restricted to 168 for 8. Amir topscored with 56 in 28 balls, Makki 36 and Adeel 21. Munzir bagged 2-28, Imran 2-25 and Abbas 2-38.
GBest IDB thrashed Jeddah Gladiators by 96 runs. GBest IDB plundered 213 for 2. Khalid made 23. Mudassir slammed an unbeaten 99 off 46 balls with 4 sixes and 10 fours, while Waseem remained unbeaten on 73 in 40 balls with 4 sixes and 5 fours. Jeddah Gladiators was restricted to 117. Fahad scored 23, Jamali 22 and Imran 17. Mohsen scalped 3-34, Quddus 2-13 and Uzair 2-28.
Afternoon Tournament
The First Phase of Afternoon Tournament 2016-17 also kicked off last week. Eight teams have registered in the Premier Division, while there are 16 teams in the Afternoon Division.
Royal Brothers downed Youth Cricket Club by 8 wickets. Youth Cricket Club posted 167 for 5. Naser hit 8 fours to compile 69. He stitched 62 with Hrithik (13). Fahad then stroked 45 and Zeeshan 21. Umar scalped 3-28.
Royal Brothers reached the target of 168 for 2 in 103 balls. Abdullah Khan blasted 44 and Hamid Khan 39 as the two added 95 for the opening stand. Waqar Abbasi remained unbeaten on 40 and Muneer Khan unbeaten 16.
Al-Safri thumped UCC by 8 wickets. UCC managed 132 for 7. Abid Ali made 29 and Obaid 33 as the duo added 60. Sarfaraz remained unbeaten on 29 and Abrar 19. Rehan took 2-9 and Aftab Malik 2-13.
Al-Safri XI got to the victory target of 133 for 2 in 89 balls. Rehan smashed 57 in 33 balls. He added 98 for the opening stand with Muneeb Anwar 55 in 37 balls.
Natcom got the better of Marine Services by 42 runs. Natcom piled up 184 for 7 with Waqas making 21, Taqi 36 and Shad 23. Khalid retired hurt for 40. Akram scalped 2-28 and Iqbal 2-35. Marine Services in response was left stranded at 142 for 5. Sohail remained unbeaten on 55 with 5 fours and a six, Naeem 18 and Akram 39.
Fuchs Alhamrani beat Awesome Iklil by 32 runs. Fuchs racked up 177 for 9. Nazaish scored 54 and Imran 30. Farhat grabbed 4-30, Usman 3-38 and Ahmad 2-30. Awesome Iklil could make only 145. Shakir made 26, Waqas 26 and Haris 25. Mohsin took 3-29, Humayun 2-18 and Abdulghafour 2-22.
