Tariq and Farhan shine in WPCA Morning Tournament

JEDDAH — All-rounders Tariq Siddiqui hit a ton and took 5 wickets, while Farhan Patel hammered 98 and scalped 3 wickets in the WPCA Morning Tournament here.
Al-Mazroi XI had a cake-walk against ADI XI by 103 runs. Al-Mazroi racked up 219 for 5. Farhan Patel blasted 98 off 49 balls with 13 fours as he added 103 in 49 balls for the 1st wicket with Sufiyan Lahri (32). Sohail stroked 61 in 29 balls. Daniyal claimed 2-25.
ADI XI, in reply, was restricted to 116 for 8. Ejaz made 30 and Adeel 30. Farhan Patel took 3-25, Faisal Patel 2-16 and Abdullah 2-18.
Universal XI thumped Al-Saudi Green by 122 runs. Universal mustered 203 for 2 thanks to Tariq Siddiqui, who smashed 101 not out in 58 balls with 2 sixes and 11 fours. He added 110 in 60 balls for the first wicket with Bilal Ahmed (42). Shoaib contributed 20 and Ahmed 18 not out.
Al-Saudi Green was sent packing for 81 as Tariq Siddiqui ran through the batting lineup with 5 for 16 and Waqas 3-26. Al-Saudi Green's only meaningful contributions came from Imran Kidwai (22) and Faiz (20).
GBest IDB prevailed over Al-Kabbani Group by 21 runs. GBest IDB piled up 194 for 4. Waseem hammered an unbeaten 101 in 36 balls with 8 sixes and 8 fours. He added 55 with Rayees (57) and 71 with Fakhar (9). Al-Kabbani, accepting the challenge, was left stranded at 173 for 7. Luqman scored 52, Imran 29, Faisal 25 and Irfan 19. Aleem grabbed 2-32.
Emper Perfumes defeated Arcoma by 20 runs. Emper Perfumes racked up 188 for 4. Usman Amjad hammered an unbeaten 125 in 63 balls with 10 sixes and 7 fours. Abdul Qayyum added 16. Ali took 2-27.
Arcoma, in chase, could manage only 168 for 6. Kaleem hit 52 and Pervaiz Abid 46 as the two added 92. Ali scored 19. Mubashir took 3-40 and Amar Sariyo 2-15.
Gujarat Eagles ran over Deloitte by 29 runs. Gujarat Eagles produced 163 for 7 through Arbab (52 in 32 balls), Arshad (22), Qalab (18) and Sajjad (16 not out). Muqeet took 2-17, Assad 2-30 and Farhan 2-41. Deloitte was restricted to 134 for 6. Imad scored 26, Owais 51 and Muqeet 17. Mudassar scalped 2-13 and Ajmal 2-27.
Mercedes Benz trounced Hanifa Tigers by 83 runs. Mercedez Benz racked up 205 for 7 with Jibran blasting 104 in 52 balls with 17 hits to the fence. Jibran first added 118 for the second wicket with Azhar (22) and then 49 with Tayyab (28), while Saddeq made 17. Jibran took 4-36.
Hanifa Tigers could score only 122 for 7. Kashif hammered 50 in 27 balls, Umair 21 and Jibran 16. Tayyab bagged 2-7 and Javed 2-29.
Star XI thrashed Zamil Cool Care by 8 wickets. Zamil posted 149 for 7 through Sohail (21), Abid (33), Azhar (18) and Zaheer (18 not out). Hasnain claimed 3-30 and Saleem 2-27. Star XI got to the victory target (152) for the loss of 2 wickets in 96 balls. Omar played a match-winning innings of 84 with 13 fours, while Kaleem remained unbeaten on 35 and Nadeem contributed 17. Abid grabbed 2-25.
