Speakers at a recent workshop here titled Istiqbal-e-Ramadan (Welcome Ramadan) exhorted Muslims to avail maximum benefits and bounties of the blessed month of Ramadan. The workshop, organized by Lajna Ilmiya education society, stressed on the need to recite the Holy Qur'an as much as possible and to make a time schedule for Ramadan according to the time available with those fasting during the month. The workshop, compered by Abdur Rahman Umari, was attended by various prominent personalities both from India and Pakistan including women and children. Six papers were presented during the workshop presided over by Maulana Abdul Bari Qasmi. These were: "Fazail-e-Ramadan" by Mohammad Shoiab Gorakhpuri; "Ramadan and Qur'an" by Nihal Anwer Qasmi; "Battles and Islamic Victories in Ramadan" by Inamul Haque Qasmi; "Our Shortcomings and Laziness in Namaz" by Mohammad Arsahd Qasmi; "Zakat ke Masail" by Asrhraf Ali Qasmi and "Virtues and Features of Deen-e-Islam" by Dr. Mohammad Najeeb Qasmi. Haroon Qasmi, who gave the vote of thanks, along with Mohammad Saleem played a pivotal role in organizing the workshop. Due to the current education system, most children are unaware of important Islamic knowledge. To make children aware of Islamic knowledge various programs are being organized. For the same purpose, Lajna Ilmiya in its seventh workshop held the oral and written Islamic quiz competition in which children of different classes (Nursery to Class XII) took part. World's first Islamic mobile app in three languages (Deen-e-Islam) has been prepared by Dr. Najeeb Qasmi. it has 45 books (14 in English, 14 in Hindi and 17 in Urdu). Another App prepared by Dr. Qasmi (Haj-e-Mabroor) has several books in English, Hindi and Urdu regarding Haj and Umrah in addition to 9 lectures, method of performing Haj & Umrah, and 23 other articles. These two apps are available at Play Store and App Store, and can be searched by typing Najeeb Qasmi or Deen-e-Islam or Hajj-e-Mabroor, which can be installed within two minutes. Once the app "Hajj-e-Mabroor" is installed in the mobile, pilgrims will no longer need to carry books as the app consists of ample information to guide them. Many authentic scholars of India and Pakistan have reviewed the contents and appealed to the Muslims to make maximum of these apps.
