Rustam Ali and Amjad Ali took 5-wicket hauls including hat tricks in the eighth round of SCC Cup 2016 here.
This T20 tournament is organized by Riyadh Cricket Association (RCA) and sponsored by Saudi Cricket Centre (SCC).
In Huraymala League, L'usine thumped Watan Pal by 43 runs. L'usine collected 228 runs. Syed Adeel blasted an unbeaten 108 off 60 balls. Ali scored 48 and Yasif 32. Zain Ullah and Fazal claimed 2 wickets each. Watan Pal managed only 185, in reply. Quraish played a brilliant knock of 102, while Sulaiman batted well for his 58. Rustam Ali bowled exceptionally well and picked up 5 for 8 runs, including a hat trick. He took 4 wickets on 4 consecutive deliveries. Talal Butt grabbed 2 wickets.
Pak Eagles lost to Swat Tigers by 57 runs. Swat Tigers posted 214. Shahzad smashed 80 and Israr 53 off 17 balls. Amjad scored 37. Ijaz took 3 wickets and Hameed 2. Pak Eagles batsmen failed against the bowling of Amjad, who picked up 6 for 13, including a hat trick. Shaukat (40) and Ijaz (38) showed some resistance.
Riyadh Fighters humbled Riyadh Warriors by 6 wickets. Riyadh Warriors posted 152 for 8. Abdul Ghafoor made 33 and Asif 28. Imran bagged 2 wickets. Riyadh Fighters reached the target for the loss of 4 wickets in 16 overs. Umar scored 49. Hameed and Nusrat contributed 30 each. Mohsin claimed 2 wickets.
Stallions beat Sulaiman XI by 5 wickets. Sulaiman racked up 120 as Mudassir top scored with 30. Stallions rushed to the target in 13.3 overs. Zia played a mature innings of 74 to ensure victory. Amir pitched in with 21. Waseem picked up 3 wickets.
In Hayer League, Insaf cruised to victory over Indian Strikers by 30 runs. Insaf piled up 203 as Waheed top scored with 58, while Ali and Zeeshan contributed 35 and 34, respectively. Kumar scalped 3 wickets. Indian Strikers managed 173, in reply. Ashraf batted well for his 45. Zahid bagged 3 wickets and Usman 2.
Saudi Zaas humbled Smashers by 7 wickets. Smashers collected 157 as Tala (36) and Mudasir (43) batted well. Laiq took 3 wickets. Saudi Zaas scored the required 158 runs in 13.5 overs. Sohail was declared retired hurt on 78, Faheem scored 45.
Karachi Dolphins lost to White Star by 20 runs. Ashique (52), Naeem (42) and Umar (33) helped White Star post 213 for 9. Raheel bagged 3 wickets, while Hanif, Kareem and Jahangir took 2 each. Despite fifties from Hanif (73) and Jahangir (50), Karachi Dolphins was restricted to 193 for 6. Umar was the pick of the bowlers with 4 victims.
Lahore Badshah Green lost to TBCC by 4 wickets. Lahore Badshah Green posted 190. Shani Butt hit 99 off 53 balls and Mirza 22. Shamnad pocketed 4 wickets and Faisal 2. Shamim led the chase with 63, while Chiriyan and Faisal added 38 and 33, respectively. Atif took 2 wickets. — SG
