Cinnabon clinches Titan Watch–JBL Basketball crown

JEDDAH — Cinnabon of manager Jhun Ducusin beat Gensoul Lion 96-82 for the 40 & above championship crown in the Titan Watch-JBL Basketball 2016 at Khalidia basketball court here recently.
The winner showed heart in defusing the continuous attacks of the loser in the final quarter. Encabo top scored with 23 points for winner and was adjudged the Titan Watch Player of the Game. Umlas chipped in with 37 points for the loser.
The tournament is principally sponsored by Titan Watch of Al-Hussaini & Al-Yahya Investment Group (Othman Al-Husssaini) and co-sponsored by Al-Aziziyah Islamic Center (Sheikh Ahmad and Sheikh Ali Ajlani), Mandhoubiyah Islamic Propagation Office, Jeddah Dawah Center, Giordano Fashions (Ahmadullah), Ric Santos Printing, Radian Massage Cream (Mahmoud Omer) and Kabayan Gents Tailoring.
Fame Thunders of Miramonte Brothers defeated Radian Khalidia 98-88 to finish third. Gallano and Rimas had 25 and 23 points apiece for the winner and were adjudged the JBL Players of the Game. Alvarado top scored with 19 points for the loser.
Jeddah Titans scored a 109-103 win over VICCM to claim Group A title. It went down the wire as the loser did not give up till the final buzzer. Bernard Carino scored 26 points for the winner to claim the Giordano Player of the Game honors. Carbonel had 31 points for the loser.
In Thursday's matches, Khalidia Tambayz of coach Ronnie beat Movenpick Resort 125-95 to even the scores 1-1 in their best-of-3 championship series. The winner went ahead early in the second half and never looked back. Garcia top scored with 31 points for the winner and was named Titan Watch Player of the Game. Dula had 33 points for the loser.
Gensoul Eagle and Knights won by default to claim the 2nd runner-up spot in the 40 & above and Group B category.
