New Young Stars, Emper, Al-Mazroi and Tata in semis

JEDDAH — New Young Stars will meet Emper Perfumes and Al-Mazroi Salonpas will take on Tata Motors in the semifinals of the WPCA Morning Tournament here.
New Young Stars defeated Stallions by 91 runs. Opting to bat first, New Young Stars racked up 215-5. Amir Khan was in fine flow as he smashed 132 in 72 balls with 14 fours and 6 sixes. He first added 54 for the second wicket with Qassim (22), then 55 for the third with Rizwan (21) and 52 for the fourth with Israr (6). Asim took 2-27, Hassan Ali 2-44 and Jawwad 1-42.
Stallions was bowled out for 124 as it lost wickets in a heap to be in trouble at 38-6. Fahad stroked 29, Asim 20 and Fawad 18. Ibrar was the wrecker in chief with 4-17. Imran claimed 2-25, while Asrar and Maqsood got one wicket each.
Al-Mazroi Salonpas won against MFCC by 5 wickets. MFCC opted to bat first and was bowled out for 157. Rana Imran hammered 84 in 50 balls with 4 fours and 4 sixes. He stitched 105 in 66 balls for the third wicket with Babar (23) after the team lost 2 wickets. The Mazroi Salonpas bowlers dominated the proceedings once the partnership was broken. Sufiyan Laheri took 2-29, Farhan Patel 2-23, Abdullah 2-30, while a scalp each went to Ahmad, Sohail and Faisal Patel.
Al-Mazroi Salonpas then got to the winning target (161) in 104 balls to book a berth in the semis. Sohail hit an unbeaten 51 in 29 balls and skipper Sufiyan Laheri an unbeaten 47. Earlier, Mohsin contributed 17. Shehzad took 2-27 and Babar 2-29.
Tata Motors downed Arcoma by 7 wickets. Arcoma, opting to bat first, produced 164-9 through Kaleem (21), Tahir (32), Ismail (27) and Wasi Rabbani (20 not out). Mudassir Afridi grabbed 3-29, Rakbo 2-45, while Ghaffar, Irfan and Uzair took one wicket each.
Tata Motors, in reply, reached 166 in 111 balls. Noor Butt smashed 67 with 4 fours and a six.
He added 147 runs for the second wicket with Mudassir Iqbal, who made 82 with 9 fours and a six. One wicket each was taken by Wasi Rabbani, Ghaffar and Ayaz.
Emper Perfumes humbled Al-Kabbani Cricket Group by 69 runs. Emper Perfumes piled up 163-4, thanks to Usman Amjad who blasted 86 in 59 balls with 6 fours and 4 sixes. Kashif made 29, Abdulrehman 30 and Sajjad 12. Siraj, Asad, Imran and Luqman took one wicket each.
Al-Kabbani Cricket Group was then bundled out for 94. Faisal Qayyum stroked 33. Sajjad grabbed 4-15, Shahzad 3-15, while Mehboob Shabbir, Amir and A. Kareem claimed one wicket each.
