ALS Warriors advances in WPCA Premier League

JEDDAH — In the last pool match of the 35-over WPCA Premier League, ALS Warriors stunned IDB to finish among the top four sides with undefeated Al-Saudi, Crown Steel and IDBG.
ALS Warriors had the last laugh against IDB by 4 wickets. IDBG, opting to bat first, was bowled out for 176. Rahat Ali Choudhry hit 39, while Ghulam Mustafa smashed 62 and Fahad 14 as the team slumped from 156 for 5 to 176 all out. Amjad took 3-53 and Mohammed Amjad Jutt 2-17.
ALS Warriors achieved the target of 177 for 6 in 126 balls to not only secure a win but also a spot in the last four. Furqan Ahmed top scored with 69 in 47 balls and Mohammed Khan made 48 as the two added 114 in 76 balls for the first wicket. Talha added 24. Gulam Mustafa scalped 3-31 and Zahid 2-27.
Afternoon T20
Lothers downed AMI Juffali by 7 runs. Lothers produced 138 for 9 through Pradeep (35), Suraj (18), Yasar (17) and Rashid (15 not out). Saboor (2-20), Asif (2-30) and Najma Uzbak (2-30) were among the wickets.
AMI Juffali, in reply, was bowled out for 131. Nadeem stroked 51 in 39 balls and Hisham 29. Pradeep claimed 3-22, Suraj 2-28 and Yasar 2-26.
Nestle Milo thrashed Thales by 63 runs. Nestle Milo, put into bat, racked up 212 for 2. Imran Sarwar belted exactly 100 in 52 balls, studded with 5 sixes and 6 fours as he added 177 in 91 balls for the second wicket with Abdullah Zahid (70 not out off 49 balls). Aijaz Butt hit 22.
Thales was bundled out for 149. Mustafa scored 22, Talal 24, Siraj 15, Yaser 17 and Owais 17. Asim bagged 3-30, Fahad 2-0 and Bilal Malik 2-37.
Marine Services humbled AGA by 136 runs. Marine Services piled up 239 for 6. Ahmed rescued the team with 59 in 33 balls to add 63 with Majed Khan (15) after a disastrous start of 6 for 2. Yasir then hammered 65 as he stitched 78 with Pervez Baig (68). Sohail remained unbeaten on 15. Fahad grabbed 3-40.
AGA was sent packing for 103. Yasir took 3-13, Farooq 2-22 and Akram 2-28.
UCC prevailed over Contraco by 7 wickets. Contraco posted 154 for 5 with Azhar scoring 42, Shahbaz 56 and Hasan 17. Sheraz took 2-43.
UCC was home (157) for 3 in 95 balls to win. Khubab top scored with 82 in 47 balls with 2 sixes and 9 fours as he added 77 with Amir (17). Shahnawaz Khan made 17. Babar claimed 3 for 40.
Zultrack trounced NAI Juffali by 92 runs. Zultrack posted 244-6, thanks to Mohsin (71), Ijaz Khan (70), Subaiyyal (45 not out) and Muzaffar (24). Ashfaque claimed 2-28 and Farzand 2-49.
NAI Juffali could manage only 152 for 6 as Asad hit 52, Ashfaque 39 and Asad Mushtaq 14. Wahid Khan took 2-22 and Yousuf 2-30.
Al-Safri humbled Harsco Baroom by 24 runs. Al-Safri, asked to bat, piled up 200 for 6. Muneeb Anwar hammered 65 in 28 balls, Waseeq Sherwani 15, Aftab Malik 60 in 35 balls and Waseem Imran 21. Azam grabbed 3 for 38.
Harsco Baroom whacked 74 runs in 6 overs. Hasnat Ahmed hit 28 and Mohsin 35. But Saqib (39) and Azam (43) could not maintain the required run rate and were restricted to 176 for 7. Shahzad scalped 2-16 and Aftab Malik 2-27.
