Malik blasts a double century

DAMMAM — Falak Malik blasted a double century as Pan Gulf outplayed Snamprogetti Drilling in the Al-Markb T20 Super Cup, organized by EPCA here.
This limited overs tournament, which has attracted 45 teams, is sponsored by Al-Markb International. Twelve teams are competing for honors in the Premier Division and 33 in First Division.
Batting first Pan Gulf posted a record mammoth total of 339 for 1 in 20 overs. Malik played an innings of his life scoring 202 in 65 balls with 19 boundaries and 15 massive sixes. His opening partner Bilal Shah hit 88 in 42 balls. They put on a record 257 runs for the first wicket.
In reply, Snamprogetti Drilling was bundled out for a paltry 83, with Tanveer claiming 4-19.
Bin Delamah Yorkers beat Kashmir XI by 53 runs. A hot favorite in the First Division Bin Delamah suffered a big knock as it lost Aqeel and Ashfaq early. However it was left to Nabil Butt (43) and all-rounder Bharat (44) to achieve a reasonable 204-8. Mohammed Zeen, Zayyan and Anwar claimed two wickets each. Chashing the target, after a solid start by Ubaid and Haider Kashmir XI kept losing wickets at regular intervals to be restricted to 153-6. Ubaid (40) was the only batsmen who showed some resistance. Kannan and Mohsin Shah claimed 3 wickets each.
Young Bilal Tigers proved too good for KLV Khodari Friends XI. Omer Imtiyaz's splendid century (110 in 54 balls) and Arsalan Butt's 40 helped Bilal Tigers post 203-8. Mohammed Kareem picked up 3-39. The experienced KLV Khodari Friends, however, was unable to cope with the young spinners of Bilal Tigers and managed only 176-8. Wassem (49) and Nazeer (32) were the only batsmen who made some respectable scores. Young leg-spinner Arsalan Amin was excellent in his line and length and claimed 4-29 and another youngster Hamza took 3-26.
Khan XI's Ali Rizwan's all-round display ensured an easy victory for Gladiators. A consistent Wamique Mirza scored a composed half century (53) and Talha hit 24 to help Gladiators tally 152-8. Ali Rizwan claimed 4-17. Khan XI achieved the target at ease in the 19th over reaching 153-3. Yahya Gul hit a half century (55), Ali rizwan remained unbeaten on 34 and Nadeem contributed 35.
Eastern Arabia continued its winning streak as it recorded a formidable total of 203-6 and humbled Young Guns by 56 runs. Its star batsman Afwan scored 64 off 27 balls, Naushad 49 and Niyaz 38. Eastern Arabia bowled out Young Guns for 147 in 19 overs. Mohammed Raif made 38 and Kashif 28. SKFCC beat SAQ Hunters in a thrilling encounter. The Farooqui brothers, Irfan and Imran, were very severe against the rival bowlers and scored at 10 runs per over. Irfan blasted 71 off 33 balls with 5 sixes, while Imran scored a magnificent century (100 off 62 balls) to steer SKFCC to 229-4. Chasing the target, SAQ Hunters' openers scored at 15 runs per over. However veteran Abulhasan claimed 3-21 and Humayun 3-29 to ensure victory for SKFCC. Azam made 33 and skipper Adeel 43 off 24 balls as SAQ Hunters was bowled out for 204 in 19.2 overs.

BAT YACC beat Saudi Diesel by 5 wickets. Saudi Diesel 170-9 (Waqas Zia 35, Nasir Qurashi 30, Afzal 30; Saif and Zeeshan 3 wickets each). BAT YSCC 174-5 (Rizwan 52, Aftab 43, Zeeshan 25; Anwar Khan 2 wickets).
AGE Dolphins defeated Marooj Rawan by 61 runs. AGE Dolphins 225-5 (Waqas Bhatti 74, Tajamal Hayat 78, Rehan Khan 29 not out; Usman 5-35). Marooj Rawan 164-8 (Nadeem 51, Sawan 32; Shiraz 4-26).
Khobar United eased past Emerald Ashes. Khobar United 183-7 (Safdar 68, Thoufeeq 34; Rajesh 3-40). Emerald Ashes 158 (Rajesh 54, Fahad 53; Thoufeeq 4-16).
