Mudassir, Ibrar and Assam excel in WPCA T20

JEDDAH — Mudassir Iqbal of Tata Motors smashed unbeaten 136 as Assam of MFCC and Ibrar of New Young Stars dazzled with the ball at the WPCA Morning T20 Tournament here.
Al-Mazroi XI downed Wolves XI by 8 wickets. Wolves XI posted 116 for 8 as Iftikhar made 20 and Rayyan 21. Farhan took 3 for 21 and Ahmed 2-23. Al-Mazroi reached he target of 117 for 2 in 82 balls. Farhan Patel hammered 38 and Mohsin 33 as the two added 63. Sohail remained unbeaten on 24. Iftekhar took 2-20.
Jeddah Challengers defeated Cousin XI by 31 runs. Jeddah Challengers racked up 185 for 3. Akram smashed 40 and Farhaad 59 as he first added 80 with Akram (50) and then 83 with Rizwan (60). Cousin XI was stranded at 154 for 7. Khurram hit 44 and Irfan Khan 55 in 27 balls as the two added 97. Once the partnership was broken, Naveed Qamar (15) was the only batsman to put up some resistance. Akram was the pick of the bowlers with 3-23. Masood bagged 2-33.
Tata Motors humbled Al-Saudi Green by 130 runs. Tata Motors racked up 246 for 2 with Faisal Shahzad blasting 85 in 43 balls and Mudassir Iqbal unbeaten 136 in 56 balls (6 sixes and 13 fours). The two added 140 for the second wicket. Kausar took 1-47. Al-Saudi Green replied with 116 for 8. Faiz hit 16, Saud Syed Iqbal 26 and Abdulrehman 26 not out. Uzair claimed 4-3 and Mudassir Iqbal 2-16.
GBest IDB trounced Brasa De Brazil by 15 runs. GBest piled up 167 for 6 as Khalid made 47, Junaid 24, Qadeer 18 and Muzammil 27 not out. Tariq Butt took 3 for 27. Brasa De Brazil, in response, was stranded at 152 for 8. Noman stroked 38 and Bilal 43. Khalid took 3-31, Aalam 2-22 and Abdulquddus 2-34.
Royal Brothers trounced Deloitte by 62 runs. Royal Brothers produced 166 for 6. Hanif hammered 51 in 40 balls, Waqar 30, Munir Khan 23 and Hamid Khan 20. Nabeel had 2-28 and Irfan 2-30. Deloitte was restricted to 104 for 9. Nabeel remained unbeaten on 34, Zeeshan added 35 and Imad 18. Waqar grabbed 3-19, Abdullah Khan 3-19 and Shoaib 2-31.
New Young Stars prevailed over Hanifa Tigers by 8 wickets. Hanifa Tigers was bundled out for 73. Saqib (18) was the only batsman to cross into double digits. Ibrar bowled magnificently to scalp 6-20 and Rizwan 3-19. New Young Stars reached the target of 74 in 50 balls. Amir hit 25, Asif 17 not out and Rizwan 19 not out. Adnan claimed 2-26.
MFCC crushed Star XI by 105 runs. MFCC plundered 229 for 5. Imran Rana hammered 73 in 39 balls, Farhan 46, Iftekhar 19, Waseem 17, Babar 25 and Mahmood 19 not out. Star XI, in reply, was bowled out for 124. Rizwan hammered 42 and Umar 46. Assam was the pick of the bowers with 5 for 22.
