Owais blasts 157 in RCA Saudi Orix tourney

RIYADH — Round five of the Saudi Orix Tournament, organized by Riyadh Cricket Association (RCA) and sponsored by Saudi Orix leasing company, saw enthralling encounter in Riyadh recently.
Al-Kharaj League
CKK registered a thrilling 1-wicket win over KFSH Blues. Batting first, KFSH Blues was bowled out for a meager 160. Ayaz hit 46. Saud picked up 4 wickets, Ubaidullah 3 and Nabeel 2. In reply, CKK chased down the target in 31 overs for the loss of 9 wickets. Ubaidullah (50) and Kashif (35) ensured CKK won easily. Iftikhar was the pick of the bowlers, claiming 4 wickets. Imtiaz and Usman bagged 2 each.
Amir Holidays humbled Fonte Stars by 50 runs. Amir Holidays scored 320 for the loss of 8 wickets. Shahbaz played a superb innings, but was trapped in the nervous nineties (97). Samiullah smashed 71 and Irfan 43. Afaq picked up 3 wickets. Fonte Stars could manage only 270. Nadeem (57) and Bilal (53) smashed fifties. Manzoor scored 47 and Amjad 36. Saeed grabbed 4 wickets and Samiullah 3.
Lahore Lions beat Lahore Badshah by 2 wickets. Lahore Badshah posted 305 for 10. In reply, Lahore Lions chased the target for the loss of 8 wickets. Owais played a master–class innings of 157. Qamar blasted 83.
Diriyah League T20
Seham crushed Elm by 6 wickets. Elm put on 186 for the loss of 9 wickets. Tahir scored 55 and Jahangir 32. Nassir took 2 wickets. Seham reached the target in 18.4 overs. Naveed (73) and Nassir (59) were among the runs. Hanif took 2 wickets.
Saudi Zaas downed Nauman Gymkhana by 6 wickets. Nauman Gymkhana collected 145. Faizan, Danish, Laiq and Fahim grabbed 2 wickets each. Saudi Zaas reached 146 losing 4 wickets in 17.1 overs. Danish smashed a brilliant 69, while Suhail provided valuable support with 26.
Naz defeated United Lions by 125 runs. Naz racked up 220 for the loss of 6 wickets. Fiaz (70) and Aqeel (61) blasted fifties. Aftab scored 44 off 16 balls. Shahji grabbed 4 wickets. United Lions scrabbled to 95. Shahji and Sudesh showed some fight with 25 and 22, respectively.
