Former Colombian interior and justice minister Fernando Londono survived an assassination attempt Tuesday in Bogota, although the bomb blast killed five people, including Londono's driver and a bodyguard, and injured more than 20 other bystanders, police said. The explosion caused serious damage to a public-transport bus and seven other vehicles, including Londono's, that were stopped at a traffic light on a busy street. The bus driver and two passers-by were also reportedly killed, according to dpa. "I just heard that Doctor Fernando Londono was the target of an attack in his armoured car," Colombian President Juan Manuel Santos said in a televised address. "Unfortunately, his driver and a police officer died," Santos said.
