Madinah Al-Munawarah, Saudi Arabia, Safar 15, 1432, Jan. 19, 2011, SPA -- Chairman of the Saudi Commission for Geological Survey (SCGS) Dr. Zuhair bin Abduhafeez Nawab explained during a lecture here today the path followed by Prophet Mohammed bin Abdullah and his companion Abdubaker Al-Siddiq from Makkah to Al-Madinah, an event marking the first year of the Islamic Hijra calendar. Using GPS technology, the satellite maps of the journey showed how the prophet trekked his way from Thor cave in Makkah to Guba, his Madinah destination, and the major events he faced, including the hiding in Thor cave, Ummu-Maabad story, the Suraqa bin Malik pursuit to kill the prophet to win the prize of the Makki foes. A documentary film on the event, produced by the SCGS, was then displayed.
