The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, represented by Governor of the Saudi Standards, Metrology, and Quality Organization, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Standards and Metrology Institute for Islamic Countries (SMIIC) Dr. Saad bin Othman Al-Kasabi, chaired the 24th meeting of the Board of Directors of SMIIC and the 17th meeting of the Institute's General Assembly, which were held in Istanbul between 20-22 November. Saudi Arabia's participation in the meetings affirms its pivotal role in promoting cooperation and joint Islamic action in all fields at regional and global levels, as its chairmanship of the current meetings came after its election to chair the Board of Directors for two consecutive times, which reflects the size of the impact that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has had on Islamic activities related to standards, metrology and quality. The meetings went over a number of topics on the agenda and decisions taken at the fifth meeting of the Standardization Management Council (SMC), the third meeting of the Board's Standing Committee for Strategy, and the third meeting of the Board's Standing Committee for Finance (BoD/FC), with the participation of delegations of SMIIC member countries and several regional and international organizations.
