King Salman International Convention Center in Madinah hosted the works of the 22nd session of the Board of Directors of the Standards and Metrology Institute for Islamic Countries (SMIIC), as part of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's hosting of the SMIIC's bodies meetings from 31 October to 2 November, 2021, with the participation of delegations from 45 Islamic countries as well as 14 regional and international organizations. Saudi Standards Governor, who is also SMIIC Chairman of the Board of Directors, Dr. Saad bin Othman Al-Qasabi stressed the pivotal role of the SMIIC in promoting the Islamic integration and cooperation in the fields of standardization and specifications activities. He also expressed his thanks to the member states for their sincere and continuous efforts in promoting the Islamic integration and improving the levels of the Islamic cooperation in various standardization activities.
