Saudi Minister of State for Gulf Affairs Thamer bin Sabhan Al-Sabhan has participated in the high-level meeting on the political solution in Syria. Al-Sabhan explained that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia welcomes the establishment of the Constitutional Committee and supports the political process to put an end to the Syrian crisis, which is based on Security Council Resolution 2254 in order to preserve the territorial integrity of Syria, pointing out that the KSA is working with the countries of the small group to support the efforts of the UN envoy Geir Pederson. He stressed the need for all armed militias to leave the Syrian territories to find a basis for a political solution on a just and stable basis, stressing the need to move forward and accelerate and intensify efforts to start the political process to reach a fair election.
