U.S. stocks rose slightly Monday. The Dow Jones industrial average was little changed, rising 17.70 to 27,171.90. The broader Standard & Poor's 500 index rose 8.41, or 0.3 percent, to 2,985.02. The technology-heavy Nasdaq composite index rose 57.65, or 0.7 percent, to 8,204.14.
