The spokesman for the "Coalition for the Support of Legitimacy in Yemen" Col. Turki al-Maliki, said that the command of the of the coalition followed with interest what was circulated in some media alleging coalition forces targeting a wedding tent in the Beni Qais in the province of Hajjah. Colonel al-Maliki said that the joint command of the coalition is reviewing the post-action procedures for all its executed operations, especially place and time of the alleged incident, noting that the preliminary results will be announced upon the completion of the comprehensive operational review. He stressed the keenness of the Joint Forces Command to adopt and implement the rules of engagement in accordance with the rules and provisions of international humanitarian law, the most important of which is "the assumption that every person in Yemen is a civilian until proven otherwise." He also stressed the legal and moral commitment by the coalition forces to protection of civilians and civilian objects, and taking all precautionary measures and preventive measures to ensure that the effects of conflict don't harm them and that their current operations are in accordance with the highest standards and mechanisms of modern targeting, which include building and determining the legitimate military objective to achieve operational objectives, and the military necessity in selecting and distinguishing the target and to applying the principle of proportionality by targeting and taking into account the humanitarian factors, and to use all sources and means of intelligence to confirm it.
