The Coalition's (Coalition to Restore Legitimate Government of Yemen) Joint Forces Command has followed with a great deal of concern what has been circulating in some media outlets regarding the allegations that Coalition have targeted "Souk Elaf" in Sahar/ Sadah province. The joint Forces Command is currently conducting its After-Action Review for previous operations, especially in the alleged designated area at the alleged specific timeframe. Preliminary findings will be announced as soon as operational vetting and comprehensive reviews take place. The Joint Forces Command is committed to adopting and implementing the Coalitions' rules of engagement in accordance with the principles of the International Humanitarian Law, the most important is the assumption that each individual in Yemen is a civilian until, unequivocally, proven otherwise. The Joint Forces Command wishes to point out that it is morally and legally committed to protecting civilians as well as civilian objects. Taking every precautionary measure to spare them the fallout of conflicts, and that its operations are conducted according to the highest standard measures of targeting that include: nominating a legitimate military target to achieve operational objectives; determining its military necessity; discriminating the military target; and applying the proportionality principal, taking into great consideration humanitarian factors, and harnessing all intelligence resources and methods to confirm the legitimacy of the target.
