The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud chaired the Cabinet's session at Al-Yamamah Palace in Riyadh on Tuesday afternoon.
At the outset of the session, the King briefed the Cabinet on the message delivered to him from President Mohamed Ould Abdel Aziz of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania, and the outcome of his meeting with Member of Parliament of British Labor Party John Woodcock and a number of members of the British Parliament.
Minister of State, Cabinet's Member and Acting Minister of Culture and Information Dr. Issam bin Saad bin Saeed said in a statement to the Saudi Press Agency following the session that the Cabinet expressed the appreciation of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's Government and people to President Donald Trump, the Administration and the people of the United States of America for what has been accorded of warm reception and generous hospitality to His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince, Vice President of the Council of Ministers and Minister of Defense and the accompanying delegation during their official visit to the United States of America, stressing that the talks and fruitful meetings with the President and senior officials will contribute to deepening and strengthening historical and strategic relations between the two countries and enhancing the bonds of mutual cooperation in various fields to achieve the interests of the two countries and their friendly peoples.
The Cabinet expressed its looking forward to the results of the official visit being paid by HRH Crown Prince to the French Republic upon the directives of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, and his meetings with President Emmanuel Macaron, the Prime Minister and a number of officials to enhance bilateral relations between the two countries and discuss issues of common concern..
The Cabinet reviewed a number of reports on latest developments at Arab, regional and international arenas, stressing the message addressed by the Kingdom's permanent mission to the United Nations to the United Nations Security Council, its call to condemn the Iranian Houthi attack on a Saudi oil tanker in international waters, west of Hodeida seaport in the Republic of Yemen, the need to hold Houthi militias and their Iranian sponsors accountable for their crimes in violation of the international law, taking the necessary measures to ensure the speedy and comprehensive implementation of Security Council resolutions 2216 and 2231, and the importance of placing Hodeida seaport under the international supervision to prevent weapons smuggling to Houthi militias that threaten the freedom of navigation and global trade at Strait of Bab Al-Mandeb and the Red Sea.
