Turkey's unemployment rate for July rose to 10.7 per cent, with youth unemployment moving even higher, hitting 19.8 per cent, dpa cited state agency Turkstat as reporting Monday. That figure was 0.9 percentage points higher than in the same month last year, while the rate for youths was up 1.5 percentage points year-on-year. In June, unemployment was at 10.2 per cent. Turkey's government and the International Monetary Fund have downgraded their growth forecasts for the country for this year and next. The past year has seen a sharp increase in terrorism and conflict.
