The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has condemned, in the strongest terms, the ongoing violations and crimes being committed by the Syrian regime and its cronies of torture and systematic disappearance, destruction, displacement, murder and terrorism for five years, led to the murder of about 400,000 people and about one million injured, in addition to the displacement and asylum seekers of more than 12 million people, a matter described by the Independent International Commission of Inquiry on the Syrian Arab Republic as a blatant violation of human rights and the international humanitarian law amounting to be considered as war crimes. In a statement today during the Human Rights Council's Interactive Dialogue with the Independent International Commission of Inquiry on Syria, the Permanent Representative of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the United Nations, Ambassador Faisal Trad said: "The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has made unremitting efforts in cooperation with Friends of Syria Group to ease the suffering of the Syrian people at all humanitarian levels, where the volume of aid the Kingdom provided amounted to approximately 800 million dollars," noting that the Kingdom has contributed actively to the work team, formed according to Munich Communiqué to support the United Nations' efforts to provide humanitarian aid to the besieged areas. --More
