U.S. stocks closed sharply lower Friday amid a huge plunge in technology stocks and mixed U.S. employment data. The Dow Jones industrial average fell 211.75, or 1.29 percent, to 16,204.83. The broader Standard & Poor's 500 index fell 35.43, or 1.85 percent, to 1,880.02. The technology-heavy Nasdaq composite index fell 146.42, or 3.03 percent, to 4,363.14.
