Jordan's border guards destroyed a car and seized large quantities of hashish and drug pills when they intercepted the speeding vehicle trying to breach the northern frontier with Syria early Sunday. The General Command Headquarters of the Jordan Armed Forces said in a statement that the vehicle was spotted at around 5:00 am, coming from the Syrian depth at high speed. It overran the frontier barrier while attempting to cross into Jordanian territory. It said the Border Guards' personnel applied the rules of engagement, firing on the vehicle and destroying it. They confiscated 2,448 bags of hashish and over three million drug pills that were stashed inside, Jordan News Agency (Petra) reported.
