Unemployment in the eurozone remained at 11.5 per cent for a fourth consecutive month in November, new data shows, as the bloc struggles to achieve economic recovery, dpa reported. The EU statistics agency Eurostat estimated that 18.4 million people were out of work in the currency area, which then still had 18 member states. Lithuania became the 19th eurozone country on January 1. In the wider 28-country European Union, the unemployment rate dipped to 10 per cent in November - or 24.4 million jobless people. The highest rates continued to be recorded in Greece and Spain, while the lowest were found in Austria and Germany. Youth unemployment increased slightly to 23.7 per cent in the eurozone and to 21.9 per cent in the EU in November. A total of 3.4 million people under the age of 25 were out of work in the eurozone and 5.1 million in the EU.
