AlQa'dah 23, 1433, Oct 9, 2012, SPA - US Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner and Federal Reserve chairman Ben Bernanke were in India Tuesday for talks on enhancing economic relations between the countries, DPA reported. They are attending the third annual meeting of the US-India Economic and Financial Partnership with Finance Minister Palaniappan Chidambaram, a ministry spokesman said. India's economic reforms, including a decision to open the retail and pension sectors to foreign investors, will also be discussed, Indian media said. Trade between the countries is due to cross 100 billion dollars this year. "The US-India Economic and Financial Partnership has served as a platform for greater cooperation on economic issues of importance to both nations," the US Treasury Department said on its website.
