HUAWEI Technologies' focus on achieving customer satisfaction while delivering on the research based on human interactions has enabled us to grow swiftly and aim for the premium market segment with our latest launch — Mate S, said Roland Sladek, vice president international media affair, after the launch in Berlin on Wednesday.
“Mate S is the first of its kind to enter the premium segment and we are confident that its sleek design and innovative features, especially the Force Touch feature, is sure to make an impact in the high market segment,” he said, adding, “our competitors must be concerned.”
“The Huawei Mate S redefines how we incorporate the insights we have garnered from our users and others. And we are confident of increasing our market share in the global sales of devices. We ranked third in the world in mobile phone shipments last year, and we hope to sell more than 100 million smartphones this year,” Sladek said.
Sladek was optimistic that Huawei will continue to make its mark in the developed and emerging markets. “Though we have achieve the No. 1 status in customer satisfaction in China, we hope to make inroads in other key markets by focusing on this element,” he said.
“A recent study has shown that the MENA region is the fastest growing, and we believe that this is an important market for us, along with Europe and China,” Sladek said, stressing that Middle East and Africa is one of our priority markets.
Sladek remarked that apart from the focus on customer service, “we are also concentrating on raising our brand awareness. With that we hope to grow our market share in Middle East and Africa.”
“We have achieved outstanding growth, to the tune of 70%, with respect to devices globally. And our H1 year-on-year result in the Middle East has been 48% and it too is spectacular,” he said.
Sladek, while emphasizing that Huawei's core business is networks, said that it is using its strength to boost its devices. “We are also leaders in data center, cloud and networks and that has seen us partner with regional players to enhance connectivity and play a role in the building of the smart cities.”
“Huawei has an important role to play, for with its core strength, and its ability to assist vendors in iOS and Android, it is better positioned than many to herald 5G. It being a member of standards organization, Huawei will play a role in shaping the future,” he said.
Huawei Consumer BG covers smartphones, mobile broadband devices, home devices, and cloud services. With its expertise in the telecom industry, it is dedicated to delivering the latest technological advances to consumers around the world.
