Some 40,000 female jobseekers attend region's biggest career fair
Published in The Saudi Gazette on 07 - 07 - 2015

“A Step Ahead” Career Fair and Forum ended its three city exhibition and forum and with the announcement of its key achievements during the regions biggest job fair targeting female job seekers. Over 40,000 women attended the three city event which kicked off in Riyadh early April followed by Dammam and ending in Jeddah. The job fair which featured a forum during the first days in each city followed by 100+ company job fair networking opportunity also had a series of training workshops and side sessions to help develop various job related skills for the attendees.

“Over 2,500 women took part in the training programs on hand in Riyadh, Dammam and Jeddah and we are pleased with the results and attention provided by the participating companies and trainers,” said Khalid W.

AlKhudair, CEO of Glowork the organizers of the “A Step Ahead” Career Fair and Forum. “Each of our participating companies were also featuring key jobs for women and we are pleased to say more than 540 jobs were secured on the spot with interviews and job offers being done during the exhibition and post event follow up this number is expected to reach 3,000 jobs as per the updates received from the participants. This is the level of interaction and delivery we would like to further build on bringing together the job seekers with the potential employers in an arena of self development and job prospects.”

“By raising the bar from all levels a benchmark is set on what jobs are available and what are the skills sets required at the same time companies are meeting first hand young professionals that are ready to join the job market within such a progressive atmosphere,” he added.

“A Step Ahead” Career Fair and Forum concluded its third cycle with plans underway for 2016, event expected to take place during the month of April of that year, and further program innovation and development to enhance job opportunities and build on the society and job market needs for women. “This is the first time we host A Step Ahead outside of Riyadh and the feedback and program achievements were exceptional.

The Dammam and Jeddah sessions proved a major success and along with HRDF, our partners and participating companies we are assessing needs as per each area to insure our services and delivery achieves the targets. To have over 40,000 female job seekers taking part where over 3,500 jobs available for immediate hiring being featured says a lot about the program and its growth potential,” Khalid AlKhudair noted.

“Our booth bookings have already started and we look forward to seeing “A Step Ahead” Career Fair and Forum going all over the Kingdom and even on a regional level. We thank all the teams and partners that worked with us to insure job seekers are given an opportunity to meet with companies and benefit from exceptional training programs by leaders in their field,” he added. — SG
