‘A Step Ahead' fair attends to jobseekers in Dammam

AFTER its successful launch and staggering attendance in Riyadh, Dammam City witnesses the official opening of the 3rd Annual A Step Ahead Career Fair and Forum in cooperation with the Human Resource Development Fund. Taking place at the Sheraton Hotel in the Eastern Province the career fair opened with its morning forum sessions featuring local, regional and global speakers addressing female job seekers and their bid to gain employment in key organizations.
Commenting on the Riyadh City success, Khalid W. AlKhudair, Founder and CEO of Glowork organizers of A Step Ahead Career Fair, said: “We had an astounding attendance with over 26,000 female job seekers in attendance during the three day event in Riyadh. With 2,000 jobs on offer by the participating companies, 150 offers took place during the fair resulting in an immediate hiring for candidates. This is the goal of A Step Ahead career fair, to provide platform job seekers to meet with, get information and attend workshops and sessions that help them address their target companies and be ready for interviews and evaluation programs. We are extremely pleased with the results in Riyadh and look forward our upcoming events in Dammam and Jeddah.”
During the career fair in Riyadh 23 workshops were on offer that were attended by 1,500 female job seekers with similar workshops and sessions planned to take place in Dammam during the two-day forum and exhibition from April 12 till April 13.
The career fair officially opened to the public at 5pm preceded by the forum that took place in the morning targeting university students. The forum concentrated on attitude and skills development techniques for the benefit of job seekers addressing the needs of the work force with panel session key topics including “Unlock Your Hidden Capabilities”, “Potential for Women in Different Industries”, “Visualizing Success”, “Your Career Journey Starts Now”, and “Everything You Need to Know When You Start Working”.
Participating universities include King Abdulaziz University, King Saud University, Effat University, Dar Al Hekma, Al-Yamama University, the University of Dammam, Prince Sultan University, Princess Noura University, and Dar Al-Uloom University.
Upon completion in Dammam, A Step Ahead Career Fair and Forum will then conclude its three-city tour in Jeddah at the Hilton Hotel on April 28-29, 2015. — SG
