Published in The Saudi Gazette on 06 - 07 - 2015

MAHARAJA East by Vineet has quickly earned a reputation as the new favorite of Saudi Arabia's premiere food enthusiasts. Creating new benchmarks for gastronomic excellence, Maharaja East has gained an overwhelming response from the public since its high-profile launch attended by an elite group of VIPs, ambassadors and senior business executives.
The unique and fresh approach has captured the palette of food lovers, and cemented the restaurant's status as a sought after culinary experience in the heart of Riyadh
This marks the second venture of the celebrated chef in Saudi Arabia after founding the pioneering restaurant at Mövenpick Hotel Al Khobar in the eastern province of the Kingdom. The expansion was mainly driven by the huge success of this first outlet and the growing demand for Indian restaurants in Saudi Arabia. In recognition of this emerging trend, chef and restaurateur Vineet Bhatia designed a modern and fresh culinary menu presented in a creative manner in the comfort of fine dining, much to the people's delight.
Vineet Bhatia said “with its diverse set of flavors, exotic aromas and meticulous process, Indian cuisine is steadily growing in popularity, with many Indian-themed restaurants expanding their base in the Kingdom. More and more people are looking for authentic and good quality Indian food, and we received a lot of positive feedback from our guests about our menu. I think what drew people to us is our unique offering which is unlike anything they have ever tasted, while keeping with time-honored favorites of the cuisine.”
Vineet Bhatia has received international respect for his impressive list of culinary accomplishments and his undeniable gifts. Opening many successful restaurants, Vineet has made history as the first Indian chef to get a Michelin star in 2001, and twice more subsequently. Vineet has established coveted culinary spots all over the world, namely London, Geneva, Doha, Bahrain, Saudi and Mumbai. He also oversees menu preparation for Qatar Airways.
Located in an elegant three-storey building, Maharaja East by Vineet presents an upscale fine dining experience with a striking atrium and a tandoori kitchen. This top establishment also provides the perfect venue for important occasions as it is divided into designated areas for family and private dining, , and open-terrace dining, all of which can accommodate up to 142 guests.
