The Al Faisaliah Globe Summit reaches new heights with eight-day festival of fine dining
Published in The Saudi Gazette on 08 - 02 - 2013

RIYADH – Now firmly established as the prestigious annual gastronomic event in the Kingdom, this year's The Al Faisaliah Globe Summit will also be the biggest to date.
Extended by popular demand from a five-day event to an eight-day extravaganza of world class fine dining, the summit takes place from Feb.12 to 19 at Riyadh's leading luxury hotel, the Al Faisaliah Hotel, A Rosewood Hotel.
Four world renowned Grand Chefs will take up residence in the leading The Globe and The Cristal restaurants to deliver a series of three-course lunches, exclusive culinary master classes, exquisite five-course dinners, and a show-stopping Prima Gala Dinner finale that will delight food connoisseurs and fine dining enthusiasts.
Erich Steinbock, regional vice president, Rosewood Hotels & Resorts, and managing director of Al Faisaliah Hotels said: “The Al Faisaliah Globe Summit has become one of the most anticipated events for both residents and visitors in Riyadh, selling out as soon as the tickets become available.
“To experience the cuisine of not one, but four of the world's leading Grand Chefs during one dynamic and highly exclusive event is certainly special. Add to this, the opportunity to meet and engage with the chefs during the master classes, and the Al Faisaliah Globe Summit could be considered a once-in-a-lifetime experience.”
Hailing from Spain, France, India and Switzerland, the Grand Chefs will create menus that include the essence of their respective regions in signature dishes that have earned them international culinary frame.
Known in Spain for his innovation and harmony, award winning Chef Paco Morales will inspire discerning diners with his artistic approach to the finest Spanish dishes, using unconventional combinations of both rare and classic ingredients.
Frenchman Chef Jacques Sorci, now based in New York at The Carlyle, A Rosewood Hotel, brings his extensive experience and knowledge of the French cuisine to Riyadh.
Amongst many accolades, Chef Jacques was honored by the Academie Culinaire de France as one of France's most outstanding chefs. Recognized as the first Indian Chef to be awarded a Michelin Star, of which he holds two in two different countries Chef Vineet Bhatia will be demonstrating his revolutionary Indian cuisine that has astonished and captivated the world.
Swiss Grand Chef André Jaeger will showcase his masterful fusion vision as he combines the most exotic flavors from the east with the west's most fashionable trends. Chef Jaeger was twice named Gault Millau Chef of the Year and is a member of Relais & Château, Grandes Tables du Monde and Traditions & Qualité, and President of Grandes Tables de Suisse.
“We are proud to be hosting such prodigious talent at our property and have no doubt this year's edition will be an outstanding success. We look forward to welcoming both our longstanding and loyal patrons to experience the world's most cutting-edge and creative culinary compositions,” said Erich Steinbock.
