Waqas misses century for SGH

JEDDAH — Peeran Warriors beat Shalimar by 6 wickets, AJA upset strong Saudi German Hospital by 2 wickets, Peeran Hawks recorded a 3-wicket win over Peeran-XI and Jeddah Shaheen posted a 7-wicket win against last season's champion ICAD in the second week matches of the JCA Afternoon League, sponsored and organized by the Jeddah Cricket Association.
Peeran Warriors beat Shalimar by 6 wickets. Shalimar batted first and managed 14-9. Asad (35 — 28 balls, 2 sixes), Faisal (23 — 4 fours), Faizan (23 not out — 2 fours), Zainul Huda (16) and Rana Shahzad (19 — 3 fours) were the main batsmen.
Waqas grabbed 3-32, Ashiq 2-5, while Zulfiqar, Bilal and Fayyaz go one wicket each. Peeran Warriors, in reply, rushed to 142-4 through Afzal (24 — 6 balls), Nadeem (26), Ateeq (2) and Waqas (25 not out). Rana Shahzad claimed 2-29, Zain 1-27 and Asad 1-34.
AJA beat Saudi German Hospital by 2 wickets. Saudi German Hospital batted first and scored 172-7. Waqas Khan top scored with 91 (35 balls, 11 fours, 1 six) and hit Ali 46 (49 balls). Abdul Rahman took 2-37, Zahid 2-22 and Dr. Abdul Rahman 1-29.
AJA replied with 173-7 through Javed (33 — 5 fours, 1 six), Izhar 28 (5 fours) and Munawwar 53 (3 fours, 2 sixes). Ali claimed 2-40 and Huzaifa 2-25.
Peeran Hawks beat Peeran-XI. Peeran-XI tallied 143. Zaheer (23), Ajmal (25) and Qaisar (30 — 4 fours) were the main contributors. Nisar grabbed 3-34 and Abdullah 2-32.
Peeran Hawks made 144 through Malik Adil (29), Abdullah (33) and Nisar (21 not out). Zaheer picked up 2-12, Qaisar 3-10 and Umar 2-15.
Jeddah Shaheen beat ICAD by 7 wickets. Batting first, ICAD was all out for 142. Shakeel contributed 36 (3 fours, 3 sixes) and Munawwar 40 (2 fours, 2 sixes).
Faisal took 3-27 and Faheem 2-46. Jeddah Shaheen reached 144 for the loss of 3 wickets. Suleiman slammed 20 off 8 balls (2 sixes, 1 four), Hussain 50 not out (31 balls — 7 fours, 1 six), Shafiq 22 and Nazim 23. Abdul Malik, Shakeel Waqas got one wicket each. — SG
