Jeddah Shaheen, Peeran Hawks and AJA win in JCA

JEDDAH — AJA, Jeddah Shaheen and Peeran Hawks scored easy wins in Jeddah Cricket Association (JCA) Afternoon League here recently.
AJA beat Peeran-XI by 53 runs. AJA, batting first, scored 181 for 8. Abbas scored 58 not out (4 fours, 2 sixes) and Sajjad added 36 (5 fours). Zaheer Peeran took 3-3 and Patel 2-39. In reply, Peeran-XI was all out for 125. Imtiaz 74 off 25 balls (8 fours, 5 sixes) fought a lonely battle with support from Mohsin, who scored 25 not out. Izhar and Munawwar picked 2 wickets each for 15 and 26, respectively.
Jeddah Shaheen downed Shalimar by 7 wickets. Shalimar was bundled out for 146 with Sami scoring 37 (5 fours, 1 six) and Irfan 43 not out (4 fours, 1 six). Faisal (3 for 33), Abdul Ghaffar (4 for 31) bowled a fine spell. In reply, Jeddah Shaheen knocked off the required runs (147) for the loss of 3 wickets. Suleiman led the onslaught scoring 87 off 41 balls with 11 fours and 5 sixes, while Nazim chipped in with an unbeaten 28. Abdul Rauf took 2 for 33 and Faizan 1 for 33.
Peeran Hawks thrashed Peeran Warriors 72 runs. Peeran Hawks scored 190 for 4 with Abdullah blazing his way with an unbeaten 101 off 57 balls with 10 fours and 4 sixes. Usman added 26. Waqas took 2 for 29. Peeran Warriors was restricted to 118 for 8 to hand the Hawks a huge win. Nawaz Shah (37), Qasid (28) and Zulfiqar (20) were among the runs as others succumbed to the sharp bowling of Usman, Sameer and Naseer who took 2 wickets each for 14, 17 and 22, respectively.
