Huawei Middle East names new president

HUAWEI, a leading global information and communications technology (ICT) solutions provider, announced that Charles Yang has been appointed President, responsible for the company's business in the Middle East region.
Yang will oversee the company's operations, guiding its strategic direction, leading its business development and customers' relations to drive wider adoption of the Huawei's technology innovations.
Shi Yaohong, former president of Huawei Middle East, said: “The ICT industry is currently transforming with increasing levels of digitization across every industry sector. Mr. Yang brings unparalleled industry knowledge and great experience within the regional market and we are delighted to welcome him aboard.”
“Mr. Yang will add strategic value to our team following his years of experience working within the ICT industry overseas and across the Middle East. We believe that under his leadership, Huawei will continue its strong growth pattern in the region,” he added.
Yang joined Huawei in 1999 and has over 16 years of experience in the telecom industry playing a key role in many of Huawei's milestone global projects. In this time,. Yang held a number of senior positions in the company, most notably as president of Huawei's STC Group account and CEO for Huawei in Shandong, Neimeng and Liaoning province in China.
Over the latest 3 years, Yang has been active in Saudi Arabia, supporting the development of the telecom industry in Saudi Arabia. His crowning achievements include constructing new strategic partnerships with operators, assisting operators to achieve the best customer experience, setting up telecom laboratory and telecom training center for talent development, and deploying joint innovation center for cutting-edge technologies research in Saudi Arabia.

Yang graduated from Chongqing University in Posts and Telecommunications in China.
