JEDDAH — Mazhar Abbasi and Adeel blasted centuries, while Abdulwahid, Gufran Ansari and Iqbal Patel claimed 4 wickets each in the Modern pioneer Summer Cup here.
The tournament is sponsored by Modern Pioneer Company and organized by Western Province Cricket Association (WPCA). Cousin-XI edged past SFCC by 14 runs.
Cousin-XI piled up 146 for 6. Aqeel scored 24, Haroon 25 and Irfan 42. Akhtar took 2-27. SFCC could muster only 132 for 7 as Faizan Lala hit 37 and Fahad Jr. 22 not out.
Zahid had 3-20 and Irfan 2-25. Emper Perfumes beat Universal-XI by 71 runs. Emper Perfumes racked up 202 for 3 with Usman Amjad making 68, Babar 52 and Shahzad Baba 30.
Universal-XI was bowled out for 131. Asif Malik made 40 and Shakeel 23. Babar took 3-21. Stallions defeated Royal Brothers by 50 runs. Stallions posted 171 for 8.
Abdulrehman hit 53, Hassan 21 and Danish 28. Shoaib took 3-33 and Hamid 2. Royal Brothers was stranded at 121 for 9 with lone Hamid scoring 67.
Hassan had 3-16, while Jawwad and Waqas bagged 2 each. Rising Stars trounced Hanifa Tigers by 71 runs. Rising Stars piled up 194 for 5.
Asim notched 24, Arfan 40 and Imran 78. Qudrat and Omar bagged 2 wickets each. Hanifa Tigers was stranded at 123 as Omair made 24 and Sameer 23 not out. Abdulwahab grabbed 4 for 10.
Al-Saudi thrashed Tata Motors by 101 runs. Al-Saudi took the strike first posted with Abbas Nadwi hitting 26 and Imran 31. But the carnage started with Mazhar Abbasi blasting 12 fours and 11 huge sixes to remain unbeaten on 156 off 53 balls as he first added 82 runs and then 105 for the unbroken 3rd wicket with Nadeem Saad Nadwi (8).
Tata Motors replied with 136 for 3 with Irfan Qureshi making 25, Azeem 36, Faisal 30 and Roshan 20 not out. Abbas Nadwi had 2 wickets.
Sadafco downed Al-Kabbani by 8 wickets. Al-Kabbani scored 164 for 8 through Faraz (46), Khaleel (19) and Faisal Qayyum (34). Iqbal Patel scalped 4-18, Zubair 2-26 and Asim 2-26.
Sadafco reached 165 for 2 in 100 balls. Zameer hit 49, Ali 55 not out and Zubair 38 not out. ALJ Toyota cruised past Ralco by 13 runs.
ALJ Toyota piled up 144 for 6 with Asif adding 21 and Zahid 60. Jahangir scalped 3-35. Ralco was stranded at 131 for 7 as Naeem made 26 and Babar 38. Aftab had 2-24.
ADI-XI humbled Star-XI by 93 runs. ADI-XI plundered 217 for 5 thanks to Adil slamming 102 in 50 balls with 4 sixes and 7 fours and Faisal 34.
Star-XI was bowled out for 124 with Umair scoring 34 and Farhad 34. Gufran Ansari grabbed 4-32 and Waseem 2. Jeddah Royals was declared winner against Johnson Control.
