JEDDAH — Abid of Zamil Cool Care, Usman of Emper Perfumes, Adil of Gujarat Eagles hit centuries and Ismail of New Young Stars claimed 5 wickets to emerge as the star performers of the week in the WPCA Summer Tournament here recently.
Jawwad of Nesma Holding, Javed of Mercedes Benz, Hamed Khan of Royal Brothers, Mazhar Abbasi and Usman Amjad of Emper had stolen the show a week before.
Morning Summer
New Young Stars won against Cousin-XI by 36 runs. New Young Stars racked up 171 for 9 as Bilal made 41, Shafeeq 42 and Qassim 39. Irfan took 4 for 26. Cousin-XI, in reply, was restricted to 135 for 9. Imran topscored with 25. Ismail grabbed 5 for 24 and Shahnawz 2.
Emper Perfumes had the last laugh against Gujarat Eagles by 33 runs. Emper Perfumes plundered 215 for 4 through Usman Amjad who blasted an unbeaten 135 in 61 balls with 7 sixes and 13 fours. Usman Jani made 22. Gujarat Eagles, in reply, fought well to get to 182 for 6 as Aadil hammered 141 in 65 balls with 11 fours and 11 sixes. Ilahi took 2 wickets.
Deloitte humbled Hanifa Tigers by 9 runs. Deloitte, batting first, produced 146 for 5 through Owais (62) and Irfan (46). Omar took 2 scalps. Hanifa Tigers, in reply, could manage 137 for 5 as Zia hit 68 in 40 balls and Kashif 29. Aman took 3-22.
Jeddah Challengers thrashed Stallions by 9 wickets. Stallions tallied 134 for 7. Abdulrafay scored an unbeaten 40 and Arsalan 23. Rafiq claimed 3-29 and Danial 2. Jeddah Challengers took 84 balls to get to 135 with 9 wickets in hand. Rizwan hit 35, Abubaker 33 not out and Abdulaziz 41 not out.
Tata Motors trounced Indian Knight Riders by 7 wickets. Tata Motors reached the target of 124 for 3 in 83 balls as Noor Mohammed made 41 and Imran 51 not out.
Zamil Cool Care won against Jeddah Royals by 3 runs. Zamil Cool Care piled up 176 for 4, thanks to a fine ton by Abid who smashed an unbeaten 113 in 56 balls with 2 sixes and 16 fours. Jeddah Royals, in chase, almost won the match but fell short by just 3 runs. Azhar topscored with 57, Yaseen hit 39 and Ali remained unbeaten on 30 to reach 173 for 6. Zaheer took 2 wickets.
Kabbani Cricket Group downed ADI-XI by 7 runs. Kabbani slammed 189 for 6 as Faisal Q. scored 46, Faraz 33 and Raqeeb 28 not out. Azeem took 2 wickets. ADI-XI, in pursuit, could get to 182 for 8. Ahmad Badar compiled 57 and Faisal 43. Ajaz took 3-17.
Ralco defeated Sadafco by 6 wickets. Sadafco was bowled out for 141. Zubair Mulla hit 71 in 42 balls. Taiyab took 3-39 and Jahangir 3-22. Ralco faced 101 balls to achieve the winning score of 142 for 4. Asif scored an unbeaten 52 and Aqeel 27 not out. Munir scalped 2 wickets.
In the previous week's matches, Mercedes Benz defeated Universal, Royal Brothers downed Rising Stars, Jeddah Royals humbled Indian Knight riders as Safiuddin took 6 wickets, Gujarat-XI tied with Cousin-XI, Emper Perfumes trounced SFCC, Jeddah Challengers thrashed Deloitte, Tata Motors won against Zamil Cool Care, Ralco edged past Rehab Riders, Mercedes Benz had the last laugh against Awesome-XI, Universal got the better of SFCC, Harasco Baroom downed Rising Stars, Al-Mazroi scraped past Royal Brothers, Al-Saudi-XI crushed QRCC, Nesma Holding humbled Johnson Control and ALJ Toyota showed no mercy against debutant Star-XI.
