Saudi Gazette report AL-KHOBAR — Experts in the safety and security sector have called for establishing an industrial safety institute that helps qualify graduates in this field. The recommendation came during the Fifth Saudi Safety and Security forum and exhibition in Al-Khobar. Over 3,000 experts participated along with representatives of companies working in this domain. Security expert Daniel Murtada said the event is a place where experts from the public and private sector along with foreign experts met and discussed future innovations and open channels of communications. Specialist Mohammad Abdul Jawad said such an exhibition increases awareness among individuals and helps generate productivity in line with safety and security measures. He believed the Kingdom was seeking to enhance this sector by bringing in international expertise. A number of workshops addressed various topics including planning and managing security and safety systems, reducing losses, carrying out evacuations and investigations, managing work risks, implementing necessary health evaluations as well as new technologies to overcome environmental pollution. An exhibition, held on the sidelines of the conference, shed light on methods and equipment that can be used to implement high safety and security standards to prevent and combat fires that might take place in any establishment.
