GNP Hospital claims Mandoubiyah-PEAK basketball trophy

JEDDAH — GNP Hospital-Al Asnan Est. team of coach Ronnie Carino defeated Al-Salam Hospital 124-122 for the 1st Mandoubiyah–PEAK Inter-Hospital Basketball Championship at the Khalidia basketball court here recently.
The final lived up to the occasion and GNP Hospital kept its nerve to emerge champion. The loser had a chance to stretch the game into overtime but sorry free-throw misses gave the winner the match.
Bernard Carino and Ofianza top scored with 26 points apiece for the winner and were adjudged PEAK Sodas Sports Best Players. Malabanan hit 31 points for the loser.
This tournament was principally sponsored by Mandhoubiyah Islamic Propagation Office with the support of PEAK Sodas Sports and Shoe Arena, ABS-CBN - The Filipino Channel and Al-Haddaf Sportsware (Bayoumi).
Al-Hayat Hospital team of coach Rey Maddatu scored over Bakhsh Hospital 101-82 for the 3rd place. The winner began attacking the defense of the loser from the jump-off.
The loser tried its best to get back into the game but the winner was unstoppable on the day. Acosta and Joson contributed 22 points apiece for the winner and were named JBL Best Players of the Game. Soliba scored 15 points for the loser.
