The article "Jeddah's rail station soon to be operational" (March 7) makes me wonder: Why escalators? To hike the contract price? Very few rail stations in the world have escalators. If it is a necessity it's OK but most stations are on high platforms. If they are underground, these will be helpful and easy to manage. This is just a suggestion from a layman. Saleem, Online response May Allah reward all concerned who are fulfilling this dream project that will help millions of Allah's guests. This will help ease the problem of the pilgrims' transportation. Of course some Umrah operators and bus owner will lose temporarily but in the long run, it will be an advantage for the country as less traffic and less oil is consumed. Ashref, Online response
