Samsung implements SASO energy standard
Published in The Saudi Gazette on 05 - 03 - 2015

SAMSUNG Electronics Co., Ltd. a global home appliance innovator, has focused on its consumers' needs and their lifestyle developments through inventions that serve their daily needs, while applying and respecting global and organizational standards. Its 2015 lineup of home appliances respects the specific requirements stated by SASO regarding energy efficiency all while providing the ultimate home experience.
According to the Standard 2663:2014 on ‘Energy Labelling and Minimum Energy Performance Requirements for Air-Conditioners', all imported, existing or locally manufactured air conditioners must abide starting January 2015 to the Standard, whereby R-410A allows for higher SEER ratings than an R-22 system, by reducing power consumption and improving EER (Energy Efficiency Rating) on all AC products.
Samsung is proud to be among the first companies to correspond to SASO's new regulation and confirms its commitment to these news specifications by delivering its new 2015 line up of air conditioners up to the Organizations' standards through manufacturing them with R-410A (which contains only fluorine) and does not contribute to ozone depletion, and is therefore becoming more widely used, as the most friendly environment option out yet.
Head of Air Conditioners' Unit in Saudi Arabia, Jin Hyuk Oh, said: “Samsung commits in all its latest innovations to respect standards all while providing the ultimate home experience for our consumers through smart products that enhance their daily tasks. Our attention was also shifted towards air conditioners because of the great number of advantages associated with it given the climate we live in, but also because energy efficiency has become a part of our strategy to provide the best possible lifestyle to all. And so, with our new line up, we believe it is possible to design small and more efficient cooling systems that are smart and environmental friendly.”
The new Samsung AR7500 air conditioner has been specifically designed to be outstandingly powerful and efficient. Its unique triangular design has a wider inlet, wider outlet and a bigger fan to ensure that air is cooled and expelled faster (26%), farther (14m meters) and wider (2 x wider) – reaching every corner in the home. Without increasing the exterior of the air conditioner, the AR7500 incorporates Samsung's state-of-the-art functional air design enabling such exceptional results.
The Samsung AR7500 features an energy-efficient Digital Inverter Technology. It can maintain the desired temperature without frequently shutting off and on, so it consumes less energy. The Digital Inverter Technology helps users to stay comfortable for long periods of time, while using the minimum amount of energy.
In terms of air quality, the new Samsung AR7500 air conditioner features Samsung's exclusive Virus Doctor that keeps families safe and comfortable through innovative air purifying technology, which neutralizes harmful contaminants in the air up to 99 percent.
Even oily air can be clean again. The AX7000 is specially designed for living areas near an open plan kitchen. Its Oil Mist Filter captures oil mist before it reaches the other filters, like the deodorization filter and HEPA Filter, so it helps maintain effective purification even when the air is oily. — SG
