JEDDAH — Danya Foods of Peder Pederson scored an 80-64 win over Fuchs One Stop Shop at Bin Mahfouz basketball court here.
Danya players displayed excellent skills throughout the game. Garcia scored 22 points to claim the Giordano Player of the Game honor, while Padohinog had 20 points for the losing cause.
The tournament is sponsored by Giordano Fashions (Ahmedullah), ABS-CBN - The Filipino Channel, Saudi Signs (Sam Adora) and Al-Haddaf Sportsware (Bayoumi).
Another game saw Taurus 29 of Jameel Del Rosario beat Al-Ettifaq 73-63.
The winning side's running game in the final quarter saw it cruise to a thrilling win.
Omar Del Rosario top-scored for the winner with 24 points and was adjudged JBL Player of the Game. Ortiz top-scored for Ettifaq with 14 points.
The defending champion, Carrefour of Dodong Dalagan, edged Mr. Foodstuff 78-76. The loser missed a late jumper that could have sent the game into overtime.
Fuertes scored 37 points for Carrefour and was adjudged the Saudi Sign Player of the Game. Jonny Bajas led the losing team with 22 points.
Another outing saw Pinoy Jeddah Group of Mohammed Abu Dawood beat Al-Mostaqbal Hospital 60-59.
Mondejar top-scored for the winner with 12 points and was adjudged the JBL Player of the Game. Nico Lico collected 16 points for the losers.
In Thursday's action, Java Tithe of Ricardo Selga defeated Mahmoud Gharib 88-84 in overtime.
Macaraig scored 30 points for the winner to clinch the Giordano Player of the Game award. Manangan and Raymundo top-scored with 13 points apiece for the losers.
Another match saw GIG of Ernie Cabawatan thrash TRCIJ 73-54. De Villa scored 18 points for the winner and was adjudged the JBL Player of the Game. Melendres netted 12 points for the losing side.
Saudia Ground Services NCB Quick Pay of Conrad Baltazar scored a 69-62 win over Awdah. Magliba led the winner with 24 points and was named the JBL Player of the Game. Toledo top-scored for the losers with 15 points.
