Published in The Saudi Gazette on 21 - 12 - 2013

Abdul Latif Jameel, the authorized Toyota distributor in Saudi Arabia, has introduced its new vision of safety test drives. Stars on the Street combines elements of safety test drives and fun. Toyota ALJ teamed up with ADAC Automobile Club to conduct the tests. ADAC (Allgemeiner Deutscher Automobil-Club e.V.) is Germany's and Europe's largest automobile club with more than 18 million members.
“Educating drivers how to handle their cars correctly and how they benefit from the safety features of their cars is the first step to ensuring the driver's safety and that's why we were especially pleased to work with ADAC in conducting the tests. The club is widely recognized for its expertise,” said Eng. Adel Ezzat, Managing Director of Marketing at Abdul Latif Jameel. “We believe that people learn best when they are having fun and that's why we are highlighting safety and fun to create an experience that reflects Toyota's character.
“Our safety test drive is all about how to ensure safety in ordinary conditions as well as in critical situations. In corporation with ADAC we showed the participants how to handle these critical situations and how the cars would react without certain safety features which are available in Toyota.”
The safety features which you can find standard in all new Toyota passenger cars and SUVs are of Anti-lock Brake System (ABS); Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD); Brake Assist (BA); and Brake Override System (BOS) while Vehicle Stability Control (VSC); Traction Control (TRAC) are available for certain models.
Highlighting its commitment to quality, technology and safety, Toyota ALJ conducted a demonstration of intensive tests featuring a line-up of current models including the Aurion, Avalon, Camry, Corolla, Yaris, Toyota 86, RAV 4, FJ Cruiser, Land Cruiser 200, Prado.
Dating back more than half a century, the partnership between Toyota Motor Corporation and Abdul Latif Jameel Company (ALJ) has grown into one of the leading automotive distributors in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and one of the biggest Toyota independent distributors in the world. This partnership is built upon both companies commitment to safety and excellence.
Backed by a policy of ‘the customer comes' first, ALJ's stewardship of Toyota brands in Saudi Arabia is supported by a Kingdom-wide sales and service network that is renowned in its commitment to excellence at every level. — SG
