WASHINGTON — Permanent Representative of Saudi Arabia to the United Nations Ambassador Dr. Abdulaziz Al-Wasel affirmed that the UN General Assembly's adoption of the two-state solution resolution is an important step towards reaffirming the centrality of the Palestinian cause. "This underscores the international community's shared responsibility to end the suffering of the Palestinian people and find a just and comprehensive solution that establishes a Palestinian state in accordance with international resolutions and the Arab Peace Initiative," he said in a statement to the Saudi Press Agency. Al-Wasel highlighted Saudi Arabia's unwavering commitment, under the directives of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman and Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman, to work with international partners to achieve a two-state solution. He said this is to support all efforts aimed at achieving a just and lasting peace and guaranteeing the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, thereby contributing to enhancing regional and global security and stability. "The efforts are being followed up by Minister of Foreign Affairs Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah to support the Palestinian people and achieve an independent Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital," he added.
